Recreational Steel Building Questions
What size recreational building do I need?
It depends on the activity. Start with the playing area your sport or activity needs, then add room for seating, entrances, storage, and circulation. Tell us your plans and we will help you choose a width, length, and eave height.
Can a steel building be used as a gym?
Yes. Steel framing allows the wide, column-free span and tall eaves that gyms need. Tell us the sports you will play so we can plan the width, length, and height around them.
How high can the eaves be for indoor sports?
Steel buildings can be designed with tall eaves to give you overhead clearance. The height you need depends on the sport, so tell us your activity and we will plan the building around it.
Do you supply overhead doors, windows, or flooring?
No. We design the building and its openings for the overhead doors and windows you choose, and they are installed by others. We supply commercial walk doors (man doors). Flooring and interior finishes are by others.
Can the building be insulated?
Yes. We supply insulation. Tell us how you will use the space and we will include the right options in your quote.
Do I need a permit for a recreational building?
Yes, in most places. Requirements vary by county or city and by how the building will be used. Check with your local building department. Your building is engineered for local codes, with plans prepared for permitting.
Can I add on to the building later?
Yes. Steel buildings can often be designed so bays or lean-tos can be added later. Let us know your plans so the design allows for it.
How long does it take to get a recreational building?
Our current turnaround is 8 to 10 weeks. Timelines can vary with project size, options, and demand.
